Hi, I’m Wanda

A holistic nutritionist who has worked extensively in women’s health for 10+ years.

I struggled with weight, hormonal health, and fertility health, and found it difficult to find real solutions that worked for me as I navigated through both conventional and alternative medicine systems.

After implementing a relaxed approach to holistic nutrition, and using Health at Every Size® practices to address the root causes of my thoughts and behaviors, I was able to overcome my personal setbacks,  and that’s when real change happened.

This experience inspired me to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful nutrition practice where I could support the health of women of all sizes with a compassionate approach… and that’s why I created Thrive

The THRIVE Method is a compassionate and highly effective approach that works because it explores so much more than your typical “nutrition coaching” program.  

Instead of focusing on weight, and handing over a rigid list of foods to eat and avoid, we’ll work together on a weight-neutral plan that is in harmony with your values, in a safe virtual space without any fear or judgement.  We’ll explore personal challenges, how they’re affecting your current eating habits, and you’ll learn how to remove blocks that are keeping you “stuck” in your journey.  

You’ll learn how to build healthier meals, and how to welcome nutrition back into your life in a way that is flexible and enjoyable so that you can start living a full abundant life without trying to control weight!

All nutritional counselling sessions are taught from a Health at Every Size® perspective with Intuitive Eating principles, to create long-term sustainable change, promote balanced eating, life-enhancing physical activity, and respect for the diversity of body shapes and sizes.

Is there an option to meet in person?

While I would love to sit down and meet face to face for wonderful conversations, I’ve decided to go 100% virtual (at least for now, you never know what the future brings!)  to help more women around the world find health, peace, happiness and thrive without ever having to worry about weight struggles making things complicated.

Do I have to make drastic changes to my diet?

Nope.  Not at all.  This program is free from detoxing/cleansing and food restrictions/limitations are only recommended in cases of known allergy or intolerance.

Will I lose weight?

Weight loss is a common reason why women seek the help from a nutritionist, I get it. However, intentional weight loss programs just don’t work.  I have adopted a weight neutral approach in my practice, but that doesn’t mean that weight is a taboo topic.  Throughout our sessions together,  you will learn about some of the underlying factors that affect weight to give you a better understanding of how your body works, and why weight loss programs that rely on old theories or fad diets fail time after time.

While weight loss may occur as an outcome of behavioural changes, it’s not the primary goal or marker of success.  My goal is to help women of all sizes embrace healthy living without the unnecessary pressure to slim down, cultivate a healthy relationship with food and their bodies, feel loved, and worthy of nourishment, ditch food guilt, while finding real, authentic happiness in the process.

Will I receive a meal plan/protocol telling me what to eat and in what quantities?

You will receive personalized nutrition, lifestyle, and supplementarion recommendations based on our 1:1 discussions, but detailed food plans of what to eat, how much, and at what times are often restrictive… and that’s the opposite of where we want to go.  Your physical needs change daily, and the goal is to help you listen to your own body’s unique needs so that you can find your own balance and explore what works for you, day in and day out.  

What is the Health at Every Size approach?

HAES is an alternative to the weight-centered approach that promotes balanced eating, life-enhancing physical activity, and respect for the diversity of body shapes and sizes.

HAES is very much pro-health.

The 5 HAES principles are:  Weight Inclusivity, Health Enhancement, Eating for Wellbeing, Respectful Care, and Life-Enhancing Movement.

What is Holistic Nutrition?

Holistic nutrition is a back-to-basics, natural and integrative approach to achieve whole body health.  Rather than focusing on just one aspect of health, we’ll discuss nutritional habits, emotional state and lifestyle, examine possible root causes of your health concerns, and work together to find easy solutions that fit and feel good!

Together, we’ll come up with a game plan that works for you, implementing more nutrient-dense foods, rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that support optimal hormonal function, digestive health and overall wellbeing.

How is your approach to Holistic Nutrition different?

 I believe that holistic nutrition should be cost effective, easy and reasonable to follow, so I’ve decided to adopt a much more forgiving and fuss-free approach to encourage a long lasting positive relationship with food  .  Many programs recommend cleansing, expensive testing, and strict food rules,  but in order to be consistent with my principles and mission, and keep costs down for clients, I have decided not to include them in my programs.  This means:  No cleanses, no testing, no diets, no strict dietary guidelines / removal of foods

I believe in the power of holistic nutrition without the extras!

What happens after my purchase?

After your purchase, you will be sent a welcome email with the link to schedule your first session.

What is your refund policy?

If you change your mind, full refunds are available up to 24 hours prior to your first consultation

Nutrition Counselling Package:

If you complete your first counselling session and you don’t feel like this is the right fit for you, you may request a refund.  Refund will be issued, minus the initial assessment fee of $150.
