(Okay I’m just going to come out and say it: Diets are hell.
There are so many ways to describe just how awful they are, but if I had to, I’d go with this comparison:
Being on a diet is like wearing unnaturally tiiiight but slimming jeans we squeeze ourselves into…even if it is a smidge too small. Oh, you know what I’m talking about. The ones that crush your organs, and cut off blood supply to your legs, but are flattering AF because they magically suck in your tummy and give you that perrrrfect butt.
They’re both quite similar if you think about it. They both instantly melt away 10lbs, and are huge confident boosters.
Let’s face it – it’s all a lie! All of that confidence you feel in those jeans is short lived because all you want to do is to rip them off at the end of the day.
They’re not practical, they’re bad for your health (goodbye circulation!), they’re nearly impossible to fit into long term and the second you eat carbs, it’s all over. Think you can enjoy Thanksgiving or Christmas in them? HA! Think again. Not unlike dieting if you ask me.
But I’m willing to bet that despite the madness and dispair, you’ll end up buying another super tight pair and go through the same cycle over and over until you have a huge collection of jeans in your closet that don’t fit anymore and now you feel sad and crappy about yourself.
(Yeaaaah no thanks…PASS!)
Thankfully there are alternatives.
Now, let’s talk about a gentle non-diet approach to wellness and nutrition – it’s like slipping into a really REALLY comfortable pair of stretchy jeans. You know, the ones that DON’T make you feel like you’re going to die. The holy grail of denim. Perhaps a jegging 😉
It feels good, it’s practical, it’s forgiving and it will never force your body into an unnatural shape.
Can you wear them over the holidays? Umm yes, why not? In fact, you feel like you can wear them all day, every day, for the rest of your life because it just fits, in every way
It’s life changing
Believe it or not, the level of comfort and game changing freedom is how you could feel if you were to embrace a non-diet approach to nutrition.
It’s such a shame we often feel like dieting and gut torturing jeans are what we need in our life, when they do nothing but bring us agony.
The secret to happiness in my opinion is making that liberating switch
